A second Trump administration is expected to place a stronger emphasis on skill-based education, apprenticeships, and technical training, reinforcing policies that prioritize practical skills over academic degrees. In line with its "America First" stance, there will likely be a heightened focus on revitalizing domestic industries, expanding local job opportunities, and shifting hiring practices toward a skills-based approach rather than traditional degree requirements.

In contrast, Korea’s labor market remains heavily credential-driven, where academic degrees serve as the primary hiring criteria. This over-reliance on educational qualifications has contributed to inefficiencies and a dual labor market structure. To foster a more skills-oriented workforce, Korea must undergo a comprehensive overhaul of its vocational training and employment systems. This includes strengthening lifelong learning policies to encourage continuous skills development and implementing workplace innovation policies to ensure that acquired skills are effectively utilized in professional settings.
