대졸 취업자의 27.4%는 자신의 전공과 맞지 않는 일자리에 취업하고 있음. 전공취업을 보다 엄격하게 해석할 경우에는 전공불일치 취업자가 49.8%에 달함.
4년제 대졸의 전공일치 취업률은 73.8%로 전문대졸의 70.7%보다 3%p 이상 높은 편이며, 같은 4년제 대학이라고 하더라도 대학 서열에 따라 전공일치 취업률에 차이가 나타남(상위 10위권 대학 77.2%, 수도권 대학 74.8%, 지방대학 72.7%).
전공일치 취업자의 불일치 취업자 대비 상대임금을 보면, 4년제 대학의 경우 사회계열(115%)과 공학계열(109%), 전문대학의 경우 자연계열(126%)과 교육계열(112%), 공학계열(107%) 등에서 높은 편임.
4년제 대학의 예체능계열(90%), 전문대학의 인문계열(93%)과 예체능계열(92%)의 경우 전공일치 취업자의 임금 수준이 불일치 취업자에 비해 더 낮은 상황임.

27.4% of recently graduated employees are employed in positions largely unrelated to their majors. More strict interpretation of the relationship between majors and job positions shows that 49.8% of recent graduates are employed in positions unrelated to their degrees. 
73.8% of 4-year degree graduates are employed in positions related to their majors compared to 70.7% of junior college graduates (a 3% difference), and there is a difference in the percentage of graduates employed in major-related positions based on university rankings, even among those with the same type of 4-year degree (top 10 university graduates: 77.2%; universities in the capital region: 74.8%; regional universities: 72.7%). 
Graduates employed in positions related to their majors have higher wages compared to those employed in unrelated positions among 4-year degree social sciences majors (115%) and engineering majors (109%), and among junior college degree natural science majors (126%), education majors (112%), and engineering majors (107%). 
Wage levels are lower for those employed in positions related to their major compared to those in unrelated positions for 4-year degree art or physical education majors (90%), and junior college degree liberal arts majors (93%), and art or physical education majors (92%).
