- 능력중심사회의 의미를 알고 있는 국민은 42.8%, 모르고 있는 국민은 23.9%로 능력중심사회에 대한 공감대 형성을 위해 지속적인 대국민 홍보가 필요
국민의 59.8%가 능력중심사회에서 ‘능력’을 가장 잘 나타내는 지표로 ‘현장실무능력’을 꼽았으며, 그 다음으로 ‘인성(14.8%)’, ‘스펙(6.6%)’, ‘학벌(5.0%)’, ‘창의력(4.7%)’, ‘학력(4.2%)’ 순이었음.
국민 대다수는 능력중심사회 구현 정책으로 ‘현장 수요에 부응하는 직업교육훈련(79.5%)’이 가장 타당하다고 생각함.
능력중심사회 구현을 위해 가장 우선시되어야 할 정책 분야는 ‘학교교육의 정상화와 내실화(36.0%)’로 나타남.
국민들은 능력중심사회가 되면 평가와 선발이 공정해지고 정의로운 사회가 될 것(36.9%)으로 기대함.

42.8% of Koreans are aware of what the term "competency-based society" means and 23.9% are unaware, meaning more promotion is required to boost public consensus.
59.8% of citizens chose hands-on work capacity as the most important attribute to have in a competency-based society, followed by the character (14.8%), qualifications (6.6%), academic background (5.0%), creativity (4.7%), and academic record (4.2%).
A large majority of citizens said providing job training based on workplace requirements (79.5%) is the most appropriate policy approach for realizing a competency-based society. 
Respondents most commonly selected "normalization and stabilization of school curricula" (36.0%) as the biggest priority for realizing a competency-based society.
36.9% of citizens anticipate the realization of a competency-based society will bring fairness and justice to evaluation and recruitment.
