The number of new doctorate graduates has grown significantly by an average annual rate of 3.2%, with the figure standing at 6.0% in Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon, and 4.2% in Chungcheong
The average annual growth of employed doctorate holders stands at 3.1%, which is slightly lower than the growth of doctorate graduates (3.2%), but the demand outweighs the supply in some regions with Chungcheong experiencing an 8.4% growth of employed doctorate holders and Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon a 5.5% increase.
For new doctorate graduates, the increase in demand (33.5%) does not keep up with the growth in supply (45.9%) in Seoul, whereas the opposite is true for Gyeonggi, Incheon, Gangwon, Chungcheong, and Gyeongsang.
