The number of private qualifications and their managers has continued to rise over the years. The number of qualifications run by a single manager has increased substantially, with some running as many as 200 qualifications.
Such managers run both the qualification itself and preparation courses, and they earn the largest proportion of their revenue from preparation courses, at 58%, which is higher than their revenue from the operation of qualifications.
The percentage of such managers that have applied for government accreditation or have received consulting services is very low, with the former at 18.1% and the latter at 30%.
Thirty percent of private qualification managers have difficulty in securing enough applicants for their qualification exams, meaning that they run only one or two qualifications, and that many such managers are small and have a low profitability.
