직업계 고등학교에 재학 중인 다문화 청소년의 대다수는 대학 진학보다 고교 졸업 후 먼저 취업하고자 하는 의지가 강함. 이러한 이유로 특성화고등학교나 마이스터고등학교 진학을 선택함.
다문화 청소년은 학교에서 배우는 전공 내용에 대해 절반 이상이 만족하고 있음.
다문화 청소년의 57.9%가 직업진로를 결정하였지만, 희망 직업에 대해 구체적으로 알고 있는 정도는 보통 수준에 불과해 직업진로지도와 상담이 필요한 실정임.
다문화 청소년은 미래 직업(창업)을 위한 준비로 자격증 취득을 가장 중요하게 생각하고 있으며, 학교생활에서 가장 도움을 필요로 하는 부분으로는 기초학습능력 향상 지원과 다문화에 대한 교사, 친구들의 이해를 꼽음.

Most multicultural youths attending a vocational high school in Korea prefer entering the job market to going to college after graduation. This is why youths from multicultural families choose either a vocational high school or a specialized vocational high school called “meister high school” Korea.

More than half of multicultural youths are satisfied with their majors.
Although 57.9% of them want to work after graduation, they do not have sufficient knowledge about the career of their choice, which necessitates a scheme to offer a career program and advice.
Multicultural youths have been found to believe that obtaining vocational qualifications is the most important in landing a job or starting a career. As for the areas in which they need most help in school, they cited basic academic skills and a greater understanding of multiculturalism by their teachers and classmates.
