A comparison between those who have completed a work-learning dual training programme (Group 1) and those who work for small and medium-sized companies (Group 2) on career attitudes, development, and outcomes indicate that a work-leaning dual system has a positive impact on career development for trainees
From a perspective of modern career attitudes, Group 1 has a tendency to take an initiative in managing their careers, be more determined to build their careers by changing their responsibilities and organizations, and be more aggressive in managing their career changes to fit evolving circumstances.
From an approach of career development, Group 1 was more active than Group 2 in terms of setting and working towards achieving concrete career goals and was better at identifying and making use of the different learning opportunities they have encountered in a workplace.
In terms of career development outcomes, Group 1 was more satisfied than Group 2 with their current careers and jobs, was more likely to be recognized as a professional both internally and externally in the labor market, displayed greater focus and skills in their work, and felt greater affection toward their organizations.
