According to a study on working learners, the more factors are considered in selecting instructors for companies and the more competent these instructors are, the higher the chances are that on-the-job training has a positive impact on working learners.
Thus, instructors should be selected by taking into account factors such as work and communication skills, dedication to sharing their knowledge and experience, organizational skills, commitment to improvement, and interpersonal skills. In addition, instructors need to receive credential and follow-up programs to build a variety of capabilities related to human resources development such as curriculum development, needs analysis, program planning and design, and the planning and implementation of program evaluation.
The study reveals that the priority is about communication skills and dedication to sharing knowledge and experience to be the most important criteria when selecting instructors, and that instructor training should focus on improving capabilities such as curriculum development and planning, training implementation and delivery, and training needs analysis.
