○ Level of self-sufficiency among youth in residential care is overall high both in self-assessment by youth in residential care and in evaluations from dedicated self-sufficiency support staff.
○ Although the t-score distribution of career maturity among youth in residential care show above-average range around 90% in self-assessment, dedicated self-sufficiency support staff evaluations show below-average levels.
○ Youth in residential care aspire for careers such as social welfare worker (6.8%), teachers (6.5%), and engineers (6.5%), it is found that counseling on career and aptitude are mostly conducted with dedicated self-sufficiency support staff (75.5%).
○ Career competency development programs, which support systematic career path design, should be provided to efficiently support the self-sufficiency of youth in residential care.
