○ Participants of virtual training mainly take online course using a laptop computer (55.9%) after 8:00 pm (46.5%) with a duration of more than half an hour (82.0%).
○ A greater availability of real-time interactive classes results in an increase in the number (21.3%) of “learners who take online courses regularly according to their own study schedule.” However, lack of person-to-person interactions in the virtual classroom remains a limitation of virtual training.
○ Online classes fail to fully meet learners’ expectations in seven categories - temporal freedom, spatial freedom, timeliness, person-to-person interactions, cost savings, autonomy and diversity of information and materials used - while there has been a great improvement in that regard between 2015 and 2021.
○ It is vital to take appropriate actions to meet the requirements of the digital age based on the understanding of the needs of learners who are impacted greatly by education and training policies and who use services provided by training institutions.
