The contents of this study can be summarized as follows.
First of all, in order to understand the change of vocational-technical education of Chinese-Korean, this study reviewed of the general policy of Chinese government for minority races and the context of industry and education of Chinese-Korean society.
Secondly, by reviewing the history of vocational-technical education of Koreans in North East part of China, this study analyzed the change and development of vocational -technical education of the Korean society in Yanji. Finally, it addressed some issues for developing vocational-technical education of Koreans in Yanji and suggested some strategies of Korean government to support it.
Chinese-Korean is one of excellent minority groups among 55 minority racial groups in China in terms of the development of society or education level. In addition, Chinese-Koreans have maintained the traditional Korean culture and language and have kept higher quality of life.
While vocational-technical education has undergone many changes for 100 years along with the hardship of the Koreans, it has continuously been developed. Yet the level of quality, size, contents, etc need to be improved. However, there are lots of positive factors to promote developing vocational-technical education. Especially, the Open Policy of Chinese government and the smooth diplomatic relationship between Korea and China must stimulate the openness and practice-oriented attitude of Chinese Koreans. This trends may promote the developing the vocational and technical education of Chinese-Koreans. The Chinese government policy to provide better chance to minority group must have been one of the most important factors for the development of vocational-technical education of Chinese-Koreans.
There exist negative factors for the development of vocational-technical education system, too. The reduction of population in Korean society must be one of the most serious barriers for maintaining the Independent District of Koreans and attraction of students. Because of the reduction of Korean students, students of other racial groups move into Korean society and this trend may threaten maintaining the Independent District of Koreans. The trend that Korean students with high quality move out may lower the quality of vocational-technical education in the society. In addition, some recent negative experience may weaken the trust between Koreans and Chinese Thus, it is strongly recommended that Korean government pursue active interaction, cooperation with Chinese-Korean society and provide active support for developing vocational-technical education of Chinese-Korean based on the Korean identity. Koreans should not forget the uniqueness of Chinese-Koreans who have gone through hardship and have contributed the independence of Korea under Japanese control during 1910-1945.
