Some recommendations are proposed as follow: 1) Before developing certifications, test the marketability and feasibility of the concepts and determine the value added to individuals and the industry. 2) Certifications must be credible to be acknowledged by candidates, employers, the industry, and the public. 3) Develop a business plan with maketing strategies because the costs for developing and operating a certification and the fees paid for credentialing by individuals and companies are significant. 4) Make sure staffing and volunteer resources are avaliable and committed to certification development.
