Abstract
In the 21st century of information-oriented society, it is required of having the ability to collect, analyze, and create new knowledge and information, and to apply them into our actual life than it is knowledge the existing knowledge and information. Therefore, the advanced countries like the U.S.A or the U.K. are emphasizing the ability of initiativeness and flezibility in the vocational world not only in the vocational education but also in the general education. In Korea, it is criticizing on losing the unility of vocational education in the vocational high schools, and at the same time, it is proposing to make higher the wide application of knowledge by way of considering the coherence of actual life in the conventional education.
  This study is focusing on analyzing the similar cases of linkage from the advanced countries like the U.S.A., the U.K. and the Germany, that have realized the necessity of linkage between the vocational education and the general education earlier than we and that have carry out a plan. And, based on the analysis of cases, it groped a linkage scheme suitable for our country as follows:
  First, the linkage between the vocational education and the general education should be carried out in the frame of the whole national policy on the education, and it must make higher the understanding on the culture of each other for the amicable linkage.
  Second, in information-oriented society, it should treat in fair the graduates from vocational high school with them from general high school if they want to go to college or university.
  Third, by means of the experience of other advanced countries and Korea, it must review the operation of comprehensive high school due to lots of problems of personnel and cost.
  Forth, it must grope a way to operate jointly the curriculum and the institution of experiment and practice between the organization of vacational education and the organization of general education by establishing the fixed educational disticts.
  Fifth, it must give widely students the chances of course option through the flexibility of schools change between the organization of vacational education  and the organization of general education regarding with entrance quota, student's record and choice etc. in their first or second grades of high school.
