In this article, I intend to investigate the features and weakness of modern Chinese occupational structure. By comparing it with that of Korea, I try to answer to the question "On what stage of industrialization China is?"
The fundamental issue regarding the occupational structure is 'educational structure' as an input and 'class structure' as its output. Thus, it's possible to foresee the prospects of Chinese occupational structure by investigating Chinese educational structure. At the same time, it's probable to forecast future level of inequality in Chinese class structure.
The reffered empirical data from 10 tables indicates that China is showing retardness in its educational and occupational structure. Although Chinese government try to enhance its human capital capabilities through the HRD policy, it will take quite a long time. Thus, it would be safe to guess that it would lead in the persistence of inequality of stratification for another 20-30 years.
