The purpose of the study was to investigate the process and outcomes of transition of women college students in science and technology majors in 4-year universities. Especially, this study was conducted to examine the effects of career transition preparations on outcomes in labor markets and industries when women students graduated.
In the result, the women graduate students chose one of three career paths: employment, unemployment or job-seeking, and graduate study. Many of women graduate students have difficulties in getting into workplaces where their majors have been playing a leading role in labor market major. In addition, many of them go into graduate schools although they have lack of career preparation.
