This study examines the determinants of the youth’s desired job employment and estimates the effect of the desired job employment status on the job duration and wages by using the youth panel (1-13th) of the Korea Employment Information Service. As a result of the analysis, with other conditions constant, The youth were more likely to get desired job when there education level increased, when they had a job they want, when they had the experience of accumulating ‘specs(qualification)’. In addition, the group who was employed for the desired job was more likely to maintain a job than the group that did not, and 9.6% higher wages were received when the desired job and the employed job matched according to the job classification criteria.
