The purpose of this study was to analyze keywords and topics of vocational competency development policies shown in press articles and press releases from the Ministry of Employment and Labor by policy period by using the big data analysis method for vocational competency development policies. The main findings were as follows. First, as a result of keyword analysis in press articles, the words ‘support’, ‘education’, and ‘occupation’ were high in TF and the words ‘disabled’, ‘job’, and ‘training’ were high in TF-IDF in all policy periods. On the other hand, in the press release, the words ‘support’ and ‘company’ were high in TF, and ‘disabled’ words were high in TF-IDF in all policy periods. Second, as a result of topic modeling, 20, 19, and 16 topics were derived for each policy period in press articles, and 16, 21, and 12 topics were derived from the press release. Third, it was found that there were differences in keywords and topics used in press articles and press releases by policy period. Based on these research results, academic and policy implications were discussed.
