 본 연구의 목적은 자격을 취득하는 4년제 대졸자들의 특성을 파악하고, 자격의 보유가 취업성과에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것이다. 분석대상은 2016년 8월과 2017년 2월 4년제 대학 졸업자이며 청년패널 자료를 사용하였다. 분석방법은 자격취득 요인, 자격의 취업효과, 자격의 직무수준 일치효과, 자격의 임금효과를 회귀분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석, Heckman 2단계 분석을 활용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자격의 취득요인 분석결과, 직업교육훈련 참여여부, 취업사교육 등 취업준비 특성이 자격취득에 상당한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자격은 취업여부에 유의한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자격은 취업 후 업무와 개인이 보유한 기술수준과 일치에 정의 영향을 미치지 않았다. 넷째, 자격보유의 임금효과는 없는 것으로 나타났으며, 자격 유형 중 민간자격 보유는 오히려 임금에 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 청년층의 취업 준비 방향, 청년층 지원정책에 자격관련 시사점을 제시하였다.

 The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of university graduates who acquire qualifications, and to examine if their qualifications affect their employment performance. Subjects of this study are four-year university graduates. Youth Panel is used for analysis. For this purpose, the study analyzed the factors of qualification acquisition, employment effect of qualifications, job level matching effect of qualifications, and wage effect of qualifications. The results of the study are as follows. First, the analysis of the acquisition factors of qualifications showed that the characteristics of job preparation had a significant impact on the qualifications. Second, qualifications did not have a significant impact on employment. Third, qualifications did not affect post-employment work and the level of skills held by individuals. Fourth, the wage effect of certificates had only a partial effect. These results may contribute to establishing a policy direction for youth in job preparation and policies on youth, and to finding implications of the current system and policies.
