This study aims to examine the wage differences among college majors with special attention to Business and Economics majors using 2017GOMS. The Oaxaca method has been carried out to decompose the explained differences from the unexplained discrimination in the labor market. The results are as follows: First, the majors with wages higher than the average among university graduates are Business, Economics, and Engineering while the majors with lower wage than the average are Humanities, Society Sciences, and Natural Sciences. Second, majors with significantly lower wages than those in the Business and Economics are: Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences in the included model; and on the other hand, in the excluded model, Humanities and Social Sciences. Third, the explained differences are high in the included model while the unexplained discrimination was high in the excluded model from the result of decomposing the wage differences. This study explores the extents to which discriminatory factors explain the wage stratification by college majors among young college graduates.
